Community Guidelines
megurii is a service that sparks encounters with new experiences by sharing how people spend their day. To keep the community healthy and safe for everyone, we have established the following guidelines.
These guidelines form part of our Terms of Service.
1. What We Value
- Share a day you actually experienced: please post about places you have genuinely visited.
- Respect for creators and other users: we want this to be a place connected by gratitude and goodwill.
- Honest records: exaggeration or information that differs from the facts erodes trust.
2. Prohibited Posts
Posts that fall under the following may be made private or removed without prior notice. Repeat violators are subject to account suspension or deletion.
2.1 Violations of Law
- Records of unlawful trespass onto private property
- Entry into restricted areas (ruins, railway tracks, construction sites, etc.)
- Unauthorized photography in places where it is prohibited (the interiors of many museums and shrines, theaters, etc.)
- Encouraging or inciting illegal acts
- Infringement of copyrights, trademarks, or portrait rights
2.2 Undisclosed PR / Tie-ups (Stealth Marketing)
For posts made in exchange for consideration from a business (money, free products, free services, free subscription passes, etc.), you must always display one of the following in a prominent position.
- "#PR" "#ad" "#sponsored" "#gifted"
If the post is voluntary and not requested by a business, these disclosures are not required.
2.3 Infringement of Others' Rights
- Posting photos in which a third party's face or personal information is identifiable, without permission
- Content that pries into or tracks the activities of a specific individual
- Defamation, discrimination, or harassment
2.4 Interference with Business / Inappropriate Content
- Unfounded negative posts targeting competing stores
- Obscene, violent, or grotesque expressions
- Solicitation for adult services, illegal drugs, gambling, etc.
- Spam, automated posting, or excessive advertising
- Impersonation or false information
2.5 Safety Considerations
- Keep posting of information that could identify a home, workplace, or school to a minimum (especially in posts about others)
- Handle photos containing the faces or personal information of minors with care
- Encouraging dangerous behavior
3. Considerations for Photos
- Even when posting your own photos, please check whether any third parties have been captured in them.
- If passersby, other customers, staff, or others appear in an identifiable form, we recommend blurring them or choosing a different photo.
- Handle photos that include children with particular care.
4. Handling of Location Information
- Before posting, check whether there are any photos taken near your home or workplace.
- Users can delete the location information for each point themselves, both before and after posting.
- megurii does not provide an automatic masking feature for location information. Please handle it at your own discretion.
5. Reporting
If you find a post that violates these guidelines, please report it using the reporting function on the post page.
- Posts that receive a certain number of reports are automatically made private.
- After review by our team, a decision is made to restore or remove the post.
- Repeated malicious reporting may result in suspension of the reporter's account.
6. Handling of Accounts
- Operating multiple accounts by a single user is not recommended, except for business purposes.
- If you operate an account for business purposes (a store, facility, etc.), please clearly state this in your profile.
- megurii's official accounts clearly indicate "megurii Official," "megurii Editorial Team," or similar in their profiles.
7. Handling of Violations
| Stage | Action |
|---|---|
| Minor violation | The post is made private; the user is notified. |
| Serious or repeated | Temporary account suspension. |
| Malicious violation | Permanent account suspension; legal action. |
8. Changes to These Guidelines
These guidelines may be changed without prior notice. If there are significant changes, we will notify you within the service.
